Welcome to Laurel Ridge Mountain!

Everything you need to know about living on Laurel Ridge Mountain at your fingertips.
(well, not EVERYTHING at this point — but keep coming back to see our progress!)

It’s Time To Make Your 2026 Road Fund Contribution!

As most of you know, the Laurel Ridge Community Road Fund is funded entirely through annual contributions from Laurel Ridge property owners. These contributions are the only source of funding for maintaining the roads that allow you, your guests, your service providers, and first responders to reach your property. In short, the condition of our roads depends directly on homeowner participation, making your contribution essential.

The Road Fund is managed by a small but dedicated group of volunteers (a.k.a, your Road Crew), including Bruce Burn and Vance McMillan as Road Maintenance Coordinators, Anna Alfano handling Communications, and Brian Robboy as Finance and IT Nerd. Bruce and Vance’s long-term Laurel Ridge road expertise is invaluable in evaluating maintenance priorities and coordinating with Marek Bass, our road maintenance contractor.

Over the past two-plus years, Laurel Ridge Community Road Fund has made significant, measurable progress in maintaining and improving Laurel Ridge roads. This progress matters — but we still have a long way to go. To sustain this momentum, we need contributions from every household. The suggested minimum contribution for 2026 is $500. Split payment options are available, and we are evaluating additional electronic payment methods to make contributing easier.

These roads allow you and your guests to enjoy your cabins — please help us maintain them.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our community moving forward.

Your contributions at work:
A recap of 2025 accomplishments

In 2025, your Laurel Ridge Road Crew delivered meaningful results, maintaining and improving our 2.5 miles of mountain roads with a renewed focus on transparency and fairness. Every inch of Laurel Ridge roads was evaluated quarterly, and maintenance was performed to the fullest extent possible based on available funds—while responsibly maintaining a $3,500 reserve for emergencies.

We ended 2025 at 76% participation, with 59 of 78 cabins contributing — a significant improvement over prior years. This level of support enabled us to complete three of four planned maintenance cycles, along with ditch clearing, drainage improvements, and a special asphalt patching project.

That progress matters — but it also highlights what remains undone. Some of you may recall less-than-ideal road conditions in late summer 2025. This occurred because we were forced to consolidate four planned maintenance cycles into three, a direct result of continued non-participation by a small number of property owners, even after their prior concerns had been addressed.

A few important points to consider:

  • Nearly one quarter of our community does not contribute to the Road Fund.

  • Roads used by everyone are maintained entirely by those who choose to participate in the Road Fund.

  • Good roads increase property values. Bad roads scare away potential buyers.
  • Owners who do not contribute, especially those with short-term rentals, are profiting from roads funded entirely by others.

To everyone who contributed to the 2025 Road Fund: thank you. Your support made real improvements possible. If you did not contribute last year, we ask that you consider doing your part in 2026 to help maintain safe, reliable roads for our entire community.
